Recent section activity summaries 20-22 January 2020

The current stable high pressure system, after so much wind and rain has stimulated a flurry of ringing outings at Haseley and elsewhere and this is a summary. More detail may be available later.

20th January Chale Green. I think around 50 birds caught with a good variety including a Firecrest, a Kestrel, a few Finches etc.

20th January East Cowes. A catch in a garden included a Firecrest.

21st January Head Down, Niton. from 0900 to 1400 with 80ft of net around feeders and a 30ft net in the shrubbery, no sound lures, total approximately 65 birds caught including Greenfinches and Chaffinches but mainly tits.

22nd January Haseley teaching session 32 birds including a retrap Firecrest.
